Gifts of Securities

Gifts of Securities such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds, are gratefully accepted by Lightways. Donors can realize significant tax advantages by making a gift of appreciated securities. Donors should consult with their tax adviser regarding the tax benefits of such gifts. Generally, securities given directly to Lightways are processed and liquidated immediately.

Donors should contact the Lightways Development Office at 814-740-4104 when making donations of securities. Lightways’ representatives for assistance with the sale and donations of securities are:

Donors also may direct the sale of their securities through their own broker and instruct the broker to forward the check to Lightways, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL  60431, along with the donor name, address and phone number; stock name; number of shares sold; and date of sale.
