Providing Unwavering Guidance and Support for More Than 40 years
Founded in 1982 as Joliet Area Community Hospice, Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care is an independent, nonprofit healthcare provider licensed in 11 counties in Illinois. We provide exceptional serious illness care, hospice care and grief support for adults and children.
At Lightways, we know how important time is. Our goal for all patients and families is simple: Time together with less pain and more joy.
We are expanding our outreach, and we need committed and compassionate staff who can:
- Manage a caseload of patients with an interdisciplinary team.
- Use their skills to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
- Provide compassionate care to our patients and families in their residence or facility.
Award-Winning Organization
Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care has been named a 2021, 2022 and 2023 Top Workplace in Chicagoland by the Chicago Tribune. Selection was based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by Energage, LLC. This anonymous survey measured 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization.
