Help Us Bring the Light: Volunteering at Lightways
Whether you work directly with patients and their families or provide support behind the scenes, volunteering at Lightways is very rewarding.
Lightways volunteers range from students to retirees, homemakers to professionals, individuals to service groups. Although all have different reasons for volunteering, all Lightways volunteers are committed to providing unwavering support with the powerful positivity of light.
As a Lightways volunteer, you’ll become part of a highly dedicated and caring group of extraordinary people.
Direct and Indirect Care Volunteers
We need volunteers with a wide-range of skills and interests. Here are a few opportunities:
Direct Care Volunteers
Direct care volunteers provide services directly to patients and families. Volunteers will visit in a patient’s private residence, a nursing home, or the Hospice Inpatient Unit. These services include:
- Companionship
- Vigil
- Grief Support

Indirect Care Volunteers
Indirect care volunteers support Lightways in many ways. Our Indirect Care volunteers have unique skills that help Lightways with special projects and community events. These services include:
- Gardening
- Administrative Services
- Memorial Bear Seamstress
